Hadith On Fasting | Sins Erased By Fasting Arafat, Ashura
Abu Qatadah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about fasting the day of ‘Arafat, and he said, “It will expiate the sins of the previous and upcoming years.” Then, the Prophet was asked about fasting the day of ‘Ashura, and he said, “It will expiate the sins of the past year.”
ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرفات کے دن کے روزے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہ پچھلے اور آئندہ سالوں کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہو جائے گا“۔ پھر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یوم عاشورہ کے روزے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: یہ پچھلے ایک سال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہو جائے گا۔
