The Isra and Mi’raj – What Quran Says About Isra and Mi’raj

The Isra and Mi’raj ( Arabic: الإسراء والمعراج‎ ), are the two parts of a Night Journey that, according to Islamic tradition, the Islamic prophet Muhammad (PBUH) took during a single night around the year 621. It has been described as both a physical and spiritual journey. A brief sketch of the story is in Sura 17 Al-Isra of the Quran.

Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
